The Covid-19 pandemic greatly accelerated this as many services could only be provided remotely, so people using services, carers and workers had to rely on technology to do this. In this thing, we are going to discuss how you can make this a part of your work too.

In this thing, you will discover about Telecare and Telehealthcare and how these can be used to support people receiving care to stay in their own homes or access services remotely.

9. Alternative and augmented communication equipment

In this section, we will explore how people can be supported to communicate when they are unable to speak or find this very challenging. We will show that this support does not always require sophisticated technology, however we will also explain how technology can assist people to communicate in different ways.

In this section, you will learn about mobile devices and ‘wearables’ and how these can be used to support in their daily lives.
